PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

By improving the special education services in Türkiye, this project contributes to social inclusion of individuals within disadvantaged groups and with needs for special education.

This Project aims to increase opportunities and to improve the learning environments for disabled individuals with a view to increasing their access to education and inclusion in society through campaigns, in-service trainings, psychological assessment and diagnostic tests with the active participation and support of NGOs, local public institutions, municipalities, and private sector organizations.

Achievements / expected outputs

• Policy recommendation on inclusive special education developed and strategy for awareness raising in the society elaborated.
• Upgrading of teachers qualifications on special needs education and promoting implementation of Schools without barriers/inclusive education.
• Improvement of the quality of educational diagnosis and assessment services in Guidance and Research Centres by implementation of new Psychological Measurement Tools.
• Improvement of the quality of work and vocational training for the disabled individuals.
