Institutional Structure

Within the framework of the Ankara Agreement (Agreement Establishing an Association between the European Economic Community (EEC) and Türkiye), signed on 12 September 1963 between Türkiye and the then EEC, an association regime was established. To ensure the implementation and further development of this association, an institutional structure was introduced.

The bodies established within this structure are listed below:

• Association Council
• Association Committee
• Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC)
• Türkiye-EU Joint Consultative Committee (JCC)
• Customs Cooperation Committee (CCC)
• Customs Union Joint Committee (CUJC)
