Department of EU Law and Translation

a) Reviews and gives opinion on the draft laws prepared for alignment with the EU acquis and communicated to the Directorate for EU Affairs for opinion, with respect to their compliance with the EU law,

b) Conducts studies on EU law and Türkiye–EU Association Law, the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and follows the developments in these fields; and gives opinion when required,

c) Coordinates the work related to translation of the EU acquis, and Turkish legislation required in the framework of the accession negotiations, examines the accuracy of translations in this context and carries out the relevant infrastructural and inventory work,

d) Carries out awareness raising activities with respect to the EU acquis translation process and creates the EU terminology database.
