Third Joint Programming Commitee Meeting of Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin CBC Programme (2021-2027) was held

The third Joint Programming Committee meeting of Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin CBC Programme, in which our Directorate acts as the National Authority, was held online on 25 February 2021. 

Representatives of the National Authorities from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Georgia, Armenia and Türkiye as well as the Programme's Managing Authority and the European Commission participated in the meeting. Our Directorate was represented by the delegation headed by Ms. Şebnem Sözer, Head of Union Programmes and Cross Border Cooperation Department.

During the meeting, the Committee evaluated the results of the consultation process conducted over the Programme’s policy and specific objectives for the 2021-2027 period and then the final decision on Programme’s objectives was taken by the Committee. Besides, it was agreed on implementation of a strategic importance project to be financed in 2021-2027 period of the Programme. 

In 2021-2027 period, the Programme will finance the projects regarding the specific objectives “Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities   and the uptake of advanced technologies”, “Promoting climate change adaptation, and disaster risk   prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem based   approaches'” and “Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity, and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution”. The strategic importance project will be implemented under the specific objectives related to the environment as well.
