Poland Took Over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Hungary
Poland took over the six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Hungary as of January 1, 2025. With Poland assuming the Presidency, the EU's new trio Presidency has begun (Poland, Denmark, GCASC).
Poland, which will assume the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the second time after 13 years, announced its Presidency programme and priorities on December 10, 2024.
Poland, which took office with the motto “Security, Europe!”, has determined the 7 dimensions of security as a priority: defence and security, protection of people and borders, resistance to foreign interference and disinformation, ensuring security and freedom of business, energy transition, competitive and resilient agriculture and health security.
Detailed information about the Polish Presidency can be found on the official website: https://polish-presidency.consilium.europa.eu/en/.
