Minister For EU Affairs And Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik’s Visit To Madrid
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik paid a visit to Madrid, Spain on 27-28 September for official meetings.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik met with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis and attended a working luncheon hosted by his counterpart.
During his visit, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik also met with Pío García-Escudero, President of the Spanish Senate.
In Madrid, Minister Çelik delivered a speech titled “Future: Europe and Türkiye-EU Relations” at the Elcano Royal Institute, one of the leading think-tanks of Spain.
Minister Çelik attended a meeting organised by the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE) and addressed the representatives of the business world. A delegation of Turkish business people who accompanied Minister Çelik in Madrid also attended the meeting and met with their Spanish counterparts.
Minister Çelik also gave interviews to the Spanish media during his visit.
Recent developments in Türkiye-EU relations, Türkiye-Spain relations, fight against terrorism and bilateral cooperation opportunities were on the agenda of Minister Çelik’s meetings in Madrid.
