The most original activity of the 2023 edition of the "Interreg Day", which is celebrated annually on 21 September, was awarded for the sailing and canoeing training organized in the unique nature of Gökçetepe Nature Park hosted by Türkiye.

Last year, within the scope of the Interreg Cooperation Day, practical trainings on sailing and canoeing were given in the fresh air and unique natural beauties of the Gökçtepe Nature Park in Keşan  District of Edirne during the events organized by the National Authority of the Programme, the Directorate for EU Affairs. The event was organized with the participation of Keşan Municipality Water Sports Club, Edirne Nature Sports Club, various NGOs from Bulgaria and local people.

Within the scope of the events, after the opening speeches in Çamlıca village of Keşan district, a visit was paid to the "Colors" project carried out under the Bulgaria-Türkiye Cross-border Cooperation Programme and whose beneficiary is Keşan Mukhtar's Office and a wall painting activity was carried out with the participation of painting artists from Türkiye and Bulgaria. The event continued with a dinner program and ended with a concert of traditional Balkan music.

In 2023, the events were organized under the theme of "European Year of Skills" .This year with the theme of "European Union Values", events are planned to be hosted by Bulgaria under the Bulgaria-Türkiye Cross-border Cooperation Programme.

Every year, Interreg evaluates the activities of the Interreg Days celebrated by all Interreg Programmes and awards prizes in various categories. In addition to the award of Bulgaria-Türkiye Programme, the Best Thematic Event category was awarded to the Greece-North Macedonia Programme for Training in Entrepreneurshipthe Biggest Local Event category was awarded to the Spain-Portugal Programme for Children Learn About Their History at Cerveira-Tomino Eurocitythe Highest Publicity Reach category was awarded to the Romania-Ukraine Programme for reaching 989,051 people, and the Best Project Participation category was awarded to the Greece-Albania Programme for Digital Skills for Citizens.
