Horizon Europe Consultation Meeting was Chaired by the Directorate for EU Affairs

The cooperation and consultation meeting for the Horizon Europe Program, the 9th Framework Program that will be implemented by European Union in 2021-2027 term, was hosted by the Directorate for EU Affairs on 19 January 2021.

The online meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, was held with the participations of TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU Ahmet Yücel, Director-General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation Bülent Özcan. During the meeting, Türkiye’s overall preparedness and roadmap for the Horizon Europe Program, the suggestions related to increase the level of country performance along with the participation for the Program in 2021-2027 period and Türkiye’s priorities regarding the Horizon Europe Program were discussed.

The Horizon Europe Program will be the largest research and innovation program ever with a budget of 95.5 billion Euros which will be implemented with the aim of contributing to the development policies of the EU and increasing its global competitiveness, effectively coping with global and social difficulties by strengthening scientific and technological basis and establishing effective scientific cooperation. The Program will be implemented through the main pillars of "Global Challenges and Industrial Competitiveness, Excellent Science and Innovative Europe" in the period of 2021-2027 and industrial organizations, SMEs, researchers, universities, research centers, public institutions, NGOs and international organizations can apply on condition that they find at least 3 partners from the countries participated to the Program.
