Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan during his visit to Brussels to attend the NATO Summit, 11-12 July 2018
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu accompanied President Erdoğan who paid a visit to Brussels to attend the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government held on 11-12 July 2018.
On July 11, Wednesday, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the panel titled “A Shifting Global Order and An Alliance under Pressure”. At the panel, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the greatest strength within NATO is solidarity and unity, and that the Alliance must act in line with these principles without exception. Minister Çavuşoğlu further underlined that this is also the case regarding Türkiye’s fight against all forms of terrorism, and that we expect full solidarity from our allies in this fight.
On the same day, Minister Çavuşoğlu attended the NATO Summit meeting together with a delegation headed by President Erdoğan.
On July 12, Thursday, President Erdoğan attended the Afghanistan session at the NATO Summit.
Within the margins of the visit, President Erdoğan received Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte of Italy, and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of Greece, and held meetings with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Council Chairman Bakir Izetbegovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, President Emmanuel Macron of France, and President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine.
