European Commission issued latest Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1667 on Marine Equipment
The Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU aims to improve safety in maritime transport and to protect the marine environment through uniform application of relevant international rules on equipment to be installed on board ships registered in Member States of the EU. The design, construction and performance requirements and test standards for marine equipment are regularly updated and published in the Official Journal of the European Union as an Annex to the Commission Implementing Regulation.
Taking into account the latest amendments to international maritime conventions, the Commission's Implementing Regulation is periodically revised and the list of marine equipment subject to harmonized Union standards is updated. In this framework, Commission Implementing Regulation 2023/1667 on Directive 2014/90/EU was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 31 August 2023, thus repealing the Implementing Regulation 2022/1157.
