The International Conference of the Project Implementing Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting in Türkiye was organized
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay delivered a speech at the international conference titled " Gender Responsive Budgeting as a Transformative Approach Towards Equal and Equitable Society: International Experiences," held on May 29-30, 2024, within the scope of the project “Implementing Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting in Türkiye".
Ambassador Bozay underlined the importance of cooperation with the EU for the enhancement of women rights in Türkiye and stated that safeguarding the rights of vulnerable groups is one of the priorities in relation to fundamental rights.
The project is implemented in the Fundamental Rights Sector, where the Directorate for EU Affairs assumes the role of Lead Institution. Since its inception, the project has been an example of good practice. Thanks to the project, Türkiye has become one of the 23 OECD countries implementing gender-responsive budgeting.
