The Horizon Europe Programme Public Institutions Information Event Held
Within the framework of dissemination of the Horizon Europe Programme, the largest civil research and innovation programme globally, the Horizon Europe Programme Public Institutions Introduction Event was held on December 1, 2023, in collaboration with the Directorate for EU Affairs and TÜBİTAK in Ankara.
The event started with the opening speeches by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan MANDAL, and continued with a general overview of the Horizon Europe Programme presented by Director of European Union Framework Programmes Çağrı Yıldırım, and the introduction of the calls for proposal by the TÜBİTAK Experts.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay emphasized that Union Programmes offer numerous opportunities for public institutions, stating that the experience and capacity accumulated in public institutions under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) can be transferred to Union Programmes. He also stressed the need to evaluate all EU financial resources provided to Türkiye with a comprehensive approach.
In the morning sessions, the calls for proposals were introduced and success stories were presented regarding Cluster 6-Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment, Oceans and Waters Mission, Soil Health and Food Mission, Cluster 1-Health and Cancer Mission, Research Infrastructures, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, European Innovation Council, European Innovation Ecosystem, and Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence.
The sessions held in the afternoon covered the calls for proposals and the projects of example in Cluster 4-Digitalization, Industry, and Space, Cluster 5-Climate, Energy, and Mobility, Adaptation to Climate Change Mission, Carbon-Free and Smart Cities Mission, Cluster 2-Cultural Creativity and Inclusive Society and Cluster 3-Civil Security for Society.
