Sub Committe No. 7 was held in Ankara

14th round of the Sub Committee No. 7 on Regional Development, Employment And Social Policy was held in Ankara on 16 May 2017 under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Ahmet YÜCEL, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry for EU Affairs, and Patrick PAQUET, Deputy Head of Türkiye Unit of Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiation of European Commission.

During the meeting, recent developments in Chapter 19 Social Policy and Employment and Chapter 22 Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments both in Türkiye and the EU were discussed.

EU and Turkish sides made presentations regarding employment, labour law, occupational health and safety and National Strategy for Regional Development.

Moreover, the steps taken for the fulfilment of opening benchmarks of the Chapter 19 and the technical closing benchmarks for Chapter 22 were also discussed.
