Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik evaluated the UN General Assembly Resolution on the Palestinian People
Regarding the adoption of the resolution regarding the Palestinian people, which was vetoed in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik said that the UNGA affirmed the fact that Israel did not respect the law.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik made the following statement regarding the UNGA resolution over his twitter account:
“The draft resolution on the Palestinian people vetoed in the UNSC has been adopted by the UNGA. The UNGA affirmed the fact that Israel did not respect the law and adopted the resolution on the protection of the Palestinian people. The US proposal to condemn Hamas in this resolution was rejected. This is a historical resolution that underlines the fact that the cause of the Palestinians is a cause that involves the entire world!”
The resolution calling for the protection of the Palestinian people, vetoed by the US in the UNSC, was discussed at the session held by the UNGA and was adopted by 120 votes in favour and 8 votes in opposition.
