Achievements / expected outputs / results |
Outputs: Development of infrastructure for bunkering alternative fuels (e.g., LNG, hydrogen, ammonia). Integration of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient technologies in port operations and vessels. Retrofitting existing vessels and constructing new, energy-efficient ships. Technical assistance to address regulatory and capacity-related challenges in maritime decarbonization.
Results: Significant reductions in GHG and air pollutant emissions from the Turkish maritime sector. Enhanced energy efficiency and reduced reliance on fossil fuels in maritime operations. Improved resilience of port infrastructure to climate risks. Alignment of Türkiye's maritime practices with EU environmental standards. |
