The primary objective of the project is to enhance Türkiye’s capacity to manage marine litter effectively. This involves developing technical, legislative, and institutional frameworks to reduce marine litter and its environmental impacts.

Assessment of legislative and institutional gaps and recommendations for improvement.

Development of a national marine litter and plastics action plan aligned with international conventions.

Creation of a monitoring software for tracking marine litter.

Pilot implementation of "Zero Waste Blue" initiatives in three districts.
