EUROsimA 2022 Model European Union Conference was held with the participation of students from Türkiye and EU countries
EUROsimA 2022 Model European Union Conference supported within the scope of the EU Communication Strategy was held online by METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Community between 19-22 May 2022.
During the conference, main themes for 2022 were “sustainability, energy security, artificial intelligence, and security", high school and university students aged 16-25 from Türkiye and the EU countries took active positions based on the principle of on " act a part " and " substitution" in the decision-making processes of the EU institutions.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, speeches were delivered by Elif Kurşunlu, Head of Accession Policy Department of Directorate for EU Affairs, Zafer Küçükşabanoğlu, Aipa Türkiye Founder, Assoc. Dr. Zana Çıtak, Advisor of METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Community, Fatma Beyza Güler, General Director of EUROsimA and Batuhan Bera Karagüzel General Secretary of EUROsimA.
Elif Kurşunlu, Head of Accession Policy Department, assessed various aspects of Türkiye-EU relations and the parameters of a possible positive agenda in the relations as well as the future of EU.
After the conference, solution proposals related to the issues discussed were shared with public, NGOs and supporter organisations.
