PROJECT SUMMARY |
Brief description of the project and main objectives |
The activities in this project aim to facilitate Türkiye’s transition to a more efficient, low-carbon, and affordable heating and cooling system. The initial step involves preparing the national strategy and guidelines under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) while establishing a monitoring system for data collection. A well-implemented monitoring system will enable sectoral progress analysis, providing essential data and indicators for policy development. Enhancing MENR’s technical capacity will also support the creation of long-term strategic documents with clear and measurable targets, ultimately driving the transformation towards efficient heating and cooling solutions. In addition to policy and strategy development, prepared guidelines and templates will offer direction to key stakeholders, including energy producers, carriers, and consumers. Feasibility studies and awareness-raising efforts will further promote the adoption of efficient heating and cooling systems by increasing public consciousness. If these outputs are successfully realized, the EU intervention will lead to the establishment of a sustainable heating and cooling policy, contributing to emissions reduction, lower energy intensity, and improved energy efficiency across Türkiye. |
