Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay Received the Hydrogen Europe CEO Jorgo Chatzimarkakis
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay received Hydrogen Europe CEO Jorgo Chatzimarkakis at the Directorate for EU Affairs on 31 October 2024. During the meeting, possible areas of cooperation regarding the implementation of Türkiye’s Hydrogen Roadmap were discussed.
Ambassador Bozay stated that Türkiye, with its unique geographic location, continues to contribute to Europe’s energy supply security. He noted that Türkiye’s role in the region would increase with its high renewable energy production capacity and robust energy infrastructure, and that its green hydrogen potential would become even more impactful in the coming period. He further emphasized that, in line with Türkiye’s National Energy Plan, necessary steps have been taken for Türkiye to become a leading country in the field of hydrogen. Additionally, he highlighted that Türkiye’s high potential in domestic, renewable energy and green hydrogen offers significant opportunities for international cooperation.
