Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay attended the Opening Event of the IPA Fundamental Rights Project

The opening conference of the project titled “Strengthening the Rights and Conditions of Women in Prisons in Türkiye in line with International and EU Standards” was held on March 31, 2026, at the Ulucanlar Museum in Ankara, with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay.

With a budget of approximately €4.5 million and a duration of 45 months, the project aims to implement prison management policies and practices that are responsive to human and women’s rights, in line with international standards.

The project will also support the reintegration processes of women in prisons and under probation by strengthening their economic and social rehabilitation.
