Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı attended the Civil Society Dialogue Programme ''10 Years of Dialogue'' Event

The 10th anniversary of the "Civil Society Dialogue between Türkiye and the EU Programme”, implemented by the Directorate for EU Affairs as one of the longest running EU grant programmes for CSOs, was celebrated on March 9, 2021 with the “10 Years of Dialogue” online and livecast event.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, The Chair of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund and Former Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye Stefano Manservisi, The Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye  and Economic Development Foundation (IKV) Brussels Representative Haluk Nuray participated to the “Dialogue Square” panel session which was moderated by the journalist Mirgün Cabas.

In the Panel, the relations between Türkiye and the European Union were discussed based on the civil society dialogue perspective. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı stated that the Civil Society Dialogue grant programme, which has been implemented for more than ten years, now became a brand and is acting as a bridge between civil societies of Türkiye and the EU. He emphasized the importance of uninterruptedly continuing these kind of programmes and so the gains achieved until now could be further increased and become permanent.

A wide audience comprising civil society organizations’ members from Türkiye and the European Union, public institutions’ representatives, Civil Society Dialogue grant beneficiaries, academicians, journalists, youth, civil society volunteers and many other institutions and individuals attended the “10 Years of Dialogue” event.
