Cross- border Cooperation Programme in the Mediterranean Sea Basin Project Applications Upcoming Soon

Project applications for the Interreg NEXT Cross-border Cooperation Program in the Mediterranean Sea Basin, in which Türkiye will participate for the first time, will begin in mid-November.

During 2021-2027 period, applications can be made under these following policy objectives; “a more competitive and smart Europe”, “a greener, resilient Europe that moves towards lower carbon consumption towards a zero-carbon economy”, “a more social and inclusive Europe that implements the European pillar of social rights” and “cooperation in governance”. Applications can be made in accordance with partnership principle with the countries participating in the programme as stated in the programme document.

Within the scope of the programme, project applications can be made from the provinces of Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, Antalya, Isparta, Burdur, Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya and Uşak. Public institutions, municipalities, universities, associations and foundations, chambers and commodity exchanges and all profit-oriented legal entities from these provinces can apply.

The budget of the program is 281,473,092 euros. In this context, the Programme is one of the EU's highest budgeted cross-border cooperation programmes.
