PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives

The purpose of the project is to adopt a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for İzmir in line with the European Union best practice.

Establishing SUMP institutional framework and analysing mobility situation.

Identifying future mobility scenarios, discussing with citizens and stakeholders and agreeing upon one scenario.

Setting and agreeing upon İzmir SUMP vision, objectives and targets.

Adopting SUMP of İzmir supported with a credible financial implementation plan.

Strengthening capacity of transport planning staff of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
