PROJECT SUMMARY

Brief description of the project and main objectives
 

The Project aims to contribute achieving good water status for all water bodies in Türkiye.

The aim is to strengthen Türkiye’s capacity to implement Article 8 and Annex V of the Water Framework Directive and by that contributing to the achievement of the good water status.

Achievements / expected outputs

• Legal and institutional analysis of the current Turkish monitoring system.
• Capacity building to implement the WFD requirements on monitoring, including Büyük Menderes and other four pilot river basins implementation.
• Preperation of basin wide monitoring programmes and guidelines for national implementation.
