The European Higher Education Area in 2015:  Bologna Process Implementation Report has been published on 12 May 2015.

This report which has been developed by Eurydice, Eurostat, Eurostudent and the Bologna Follow-Up Group evaluates state of implementation of the Bologna Process. It provides comprehensive qualitative and quantitative information on all main aspects of higher education reforms in European Higher Education Area (EHEA) which has 47 member countries, including Türkiye.

The report states that there are around 37.2 million tertiary students in the EHEA. Considering the student population, Türkiye has the second highest number of tertiary education students with 4.3 million higher education students following Russia. It indicates that on average, only 7 of 10 students finish their higher education programme, while half of the countries' completion rates are as low as 30-50%. However, Türkiye ranks first with 88% at tertiary completion rates.

On the other hand, concerning the total number of tertiary students, Türkiye registered the second highest increase by 86% behind Montenegro from 2005/2006 to 2011/2012.

The report confirms that in Bologna process EHEA countries recorded a significant progress on the fields of degree systems, national qualifications framework, recognition of credits and quality assurance; however, it also expresses that much work remains to be done.  When compared with other countries, this report reveals that Turkish higher education system is at an advanced stage.
