Consultations Begin for the New Period of Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation

A meeting was held at the EU Delegation to Türkiye on September 25, 2026, to hold consultations regarding the programming of financial cooperation process between our country and the European Commission for the EU’s new multiannual financial framework period (2028–2034). A delegation led by Bülent Özcan, Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation, participated in the meeting on behalf of the Directorate for EU Affairs.

The meeting, aiming at contributing to the determination of preliminary priorities for EU financial support in the 2028-34 period, included presentations by the EU side on developments regarding the new period and assessments on sectoral prioritization. During the meeting, our Directorate shared Türkiye’s position and emphasized the need for continued negotiations on a tailor-made model aligned with our country's priorities.
