For the 2026–2027 academic year, 150 scholars have been awarded the Jean Monnet Scholarship.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay attended the “Pre-departure Seminar” held in Ankara on June 8, 2026. The event also featured opening remarks by Ambassador-Designate Aivo Orav, Head of the Delegation of The European Union to Türkiye, and Sevda Algün, Senior Contract Manager at the Central Finance and Contracts Unit.

In his speech, Ambassador Bozay stated: "Today, we are pleased to be here with a distinguished and qualified group of scholars who will contribute to knowledge exchange between Türkiye and the EU. Each of our scholars, who will specialize in EU-related fields, builds a strong bridge for our shared future. I wish you all a successful academic year ahead."

Throughout the full-day event, experts from the Directorate for EU Affairs and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit informed scholars about programme approval, contractual obligations, and monitoring procedures, while also answering participants’ questions.

Supported with a budget of approximately 7 million euros, the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme continues to promote academic cooperation between Türkiye and the EU member states in the 2026–2027 academic year.
