Twelfth Young Translators Contest held by the Directorate for EU Affairs in Istanbul on 25 November 2023

The “Young Translators Contest” is held annually, for the last twelve years, to raise awareness on Turkey’s EU accession process among university students studying translation and interpretation and to contribute to the development of qualified human resources in this field. This year, 125 students took part in the contest and translated an EU act.



The contestants who win the first, second, and third place in each language category will be awarded with a certificate of achievement and the first place winners will participate in a study visit to the translation departments of the EU institutions in Brussels, Belgium. The second and third place winners will attend the “Basic Training Course on the European Union” held by Ankara University, European Union Research and Application Center (ATAUM)
