Certificate Ceremony of The Directorate For EU Affairs 2022 Young Translators Contest

The eleventh Young Translators Contest was held on 21 May 2022 by the Directorate for EU Affairs in Ankara. Successful contestants will be awarded their certificates in a ceremony to be organized at our Directorate on 4 August 2022, at 2:30 p.m. The contest aims to increase awareness regarding the European Union (EU) accession process and contribute to the training of translators in this field.

24 universities took part in the Contest with three students from each relevant department and out of 85 participating students in total; 54 competed in English, 16 in German and 15 in French language categories. During the contest, the students translated an EU text into Turkish.

The first place winners will participate in a study visit to the translation departments of the EU institutions in Brussels, Belgium. The second and third place winners will attend the “Basic Training Course on the European Union” held by the Ankara University, European Union Research and Application Center (ATAUM).
