Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı met with Neighbourhood and Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi on 26 April 2022 on the margins of “The EU Meets the Balkans Forum” in Sofia.
Deputy Minister Ambassador Kaymakcı and Commissioner Varhelyi exchanged views on the main agenda items of Türkiye-EU relations namely, accession process, modernisation of customs union, visa liberalisation, security and defense, economy, trade, energy, migration, financial cooperation, Türkiye Investment Plan and Union Programmes.
Deputy Minister Ambassador Kaymakcı underlined importance of the 18th March Statement’s renewal in its entirety and strengthening accession perspective of Türkiye in the current conjoncture.
