“Horizon Europe Programme Promotion Event” Held in Istanbul
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Faruk Kaymakcı attended the promotional event of the Horizon Europe Programme with Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Commissioner Mariya Gabriel and TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal, on 21 March 2022 online from Turkish Embassy in Berlin where Ambassador Kaymakcı holds a string of meetings with some high level officials from Germany.
Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, while underscoring that EU Programmes are being used as alternative public diplomacy tools and playing crucial role in alignment of domestic policies with those of the EU, stated in his speech that “by ensuring mutual flow of basic knowledge and technologies between EU and Türkiye, Horizon Europe Programme is enabling the stakeholders in our country to set up stronger cooperation with their counterparts in the EU.”
The event will be concluded tomorrow with a workshop on industry, green transition and European Innovation Council.
Türkiye has been participating in the EU's framework programmes in the field of science, research and innovation since 2003 and already participated in the world's largest civilian research and innovation programme and the ninth framework programme, Horizon Europe, for the 2021-2027 period.
