Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik Attended the Mevlid Programme of the July 15 Democracy and Unity Day
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik attended the Mevlid programme held at the Ramazanoğlu Mosque in Adana as a part of the activities carried out for the commemoration of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik made a press statement following the programme and said that they had commemorated on its first anniversary the great sacrifice made by the nation that had prevented the heinous coup attemp.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik noted that they had visited and read from the Qu'ran at the graves of the martyrs that had sacrificed their lives to protect the independence of the state and the honour of the nation against the coup attempt in Türkiye, in particular President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım. Minister Çelik expressed that July 15 was a historical date for the nation and a date of unprecedented resistance and heroism in the world.
Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik emphasized that the martyrs had not been forgotten, and said: "We remember their message and we are making an effort to live together in this country in unity and brotherhood in order to deserve their sacrifice. All efforts we make to advance this country and establish unity, integrity and brotherhood will mean a greater commemoration of their memory."
