2022 Annual Report on the protection of the EU’s financial interests has been published
European Commission Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has published its 2022 Annual Report on the protection of the EU’s financial interests.
The annual report, published by OLAF, details the measures taken by the member states in order to fight against fraud affecting the EU budget and recommendations. Instrument for Pre-Accession is also evaluated in the report.
The overall number of cases of fraud and irregularities detected and reported slightly increased to 12.455 in 2022, according to the report, that is based on information provided by the member states.
In the report, it is recommended that the EU and national authorities should enhance coordination and increase digitalisation of the fight against fraud.
