Türkiye-EU Town Twinning Conference was held in İstanbul

International Town Twinning Conference which aims to create cooperation and partnerships between Turkish and EU local authorities was held on 22-23 November 2017 in İstanbul.

Director of Central Finance and Contract Unit M. Selim Uslu, Secretary General of Union of Municipalities of Türkiye Hayrettin Güngör and Undersecretary of the Ministry For EU Affairs Ambassador Selim Yenel gave opening speeches in the conference. Ambassador Yenel emphasized that increasing dialogue between Türkiye and EU was very important and hoped that the conference would contribute to improve this dialogue.

During the conference Town Twinning and Best Practices Panel Session, Grant Opportunites for Town Twinning Information Session and Twinning Cafes were held. The conference would expect to lead to know-how exchanging and experince sharing between Turkish and European local authorities in order to carry out long term projects based on common goals by these local authorities within the Town Twinning Grant Programme.
