The Genome Sequencing Device Purchased as part of the ''Strengthening National Capacities Against COVID-19'' Project was Introduced
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the presentation ceremony of the “Genome Sequencing Device” purchased as part of “Strengthening National Capacities against COVID-19” project financed under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) 2016 programme. In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Ambassador Kaymakcı, emphasized the importance of the device's contribution to the response capacity of the Ministry of Health in fight against epidemics, especially COVID-19.
The project aims to improve the screening, diagnosis and treatment capacity of the Ministry of Health against potential epidemic threats, especially COVID-19. The Ministry of Health in cooperation with the World Health Organization has been carrying out the project with a total budget of 5.3 million Euros since 22 December 2020.
