Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik visited the family of the martyred police officer Erhan Konuk

During his visit to Adana for various contacts and examinations, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik visited the bereaved family of the Special Forces Police Officer Erhan Konuk, who was martyred in the armed conflict with members of the separatist terrorist organisation in the İncesu area of the Şemdinli (Hakkari) on 6 August 2017 and was buried in Pozantı, his city of birth.

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik offered his condolences to the family and relatives of the martyred Special Forces Police Officer Erhan Konuk, whom he visited, accompanied by Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, and said that the fight against separatist terrorist organisations would go on determinedly, regardless of what they called themselves.

Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik stated that these heroes of the nation, who gave their lives or others who were veterans, would always be remembered with gratitude for their sacrifices for the peace and security of the people and the future of the country; during the visit of the Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik accompanied by Governor Mahmut Demirtaş to the bereaved family, prayers were said for the Special Forces Police Officer Erhan Konuk and other martyrs.

Minister for EU Affairs Ömer Çelik also took part in other visits and examinations in Pozantı within the scope of the Adana visit.
