Joint Monitoring Committee Meeting of the INTERREG IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme was held

As the assessment process of the project proposals submitted under the first call for proposals is finalized, the Joint Monitoring Committee Meeting of the INTERREG IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme (2014-2020) was held in Burgas on 8 November 2016.

At this Joint Monitoring Committee meeting, Bulgarian Ministry for Regional Development was represented by Deputy Minister Ms. Denitsa Nikolova and Turkish Ministry for EU Affairs was represented by Financial Cooperation Director Ms. Beyza Turan. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Development, Governorship of Edirne and Joint Technical Secretariat Edirne Branch Office from Türkiye and representatives of the central governmental administrations of the two countries, the regional administrations and non-governmental organizations from the border region participated to the meeting. In addition, Programme manager Ms. Ann-Jasmin Krabatsch from the Regional and Urban Policy Directorate was present at the meeting on behalf of the European Commission.

Following the completion of the administrative and technical assessment of the project proposals under the first call for proposal, the selected projects were discussed at the meeting and decided to be financed after the necessary negotiations that will be held in the forthcoming days.
