EU experts, diplomats and private sector leaders of the future met at EUROsimA 2019
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı attended the opening ceremony of 15th “EUROsimA 2019 Conference” on 20 April 2019 at METU (Middle East Technical University).
During his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı conducted an interactive survey on "Türkiye-EU Relations". 85% of participants declared that Türkiye's EU membership would be beneficial. Underlining that Türkiye’s accession to the EU might be the most challenging of all processes, past and prospective, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı said that when it is realized it will be the most beneficial and most meaningful one.
During the conference, about 350 students participated in the discussions on current challenges that face Europe through EU simulation sessions and had the opportunity to put into practice the information they have gained about the institutions of the EU. “EUROsimA 2019 Conference”, which is supported within the framework of Türkiye's European Union Communication Strategy (EUCS) & 9 May Europe Day and organized by METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Club (FPIRC), will continue until 23rd of April 2019.
