Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı Attended 2021-2027 Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Launch Conference

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı gave a seminar titled as “The Latest Developments in EU in the light of Digital and Green Agendas” at 2021-2027 Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Programmes launch conference that is organized by Turkish National Agency on 9 December 2021.

Around 130 participants from EU Türkiye Delegation, ambassadors of EU countries, academicians, teachers, representatives of stakeholders from public and non-governmental organizations, as well as beneficiary institutions conducted projects about digitalization, environment and inclusion attended the meeting.

Director of Turkish National Agency İlker Astarcı touched on strategic objectives of our country for 2021-2027 period within the context of Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes at his opening speech. He also declared that Türkiye ranks first with around 12 thousand project applications per year among 33 Programme Countries. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı emphasized the importance of digitalization for our lives and he stated that digitalization for several fields such as education, health, transportation job descriptions and working conditions is inevitable.  Then, at the second part in his speech, Ambassador Kaymakcı declared that EU’s ultimate goal is to build a greener, healthier and more sustainable life in our continent by following two essential principles - not harm to the nature and being inclusive- that constitute fundamental mentality behind the green agenda process of the EU.

After Ambassador Kaymakcı’s seminar, the launch conference continued with the presentations of beneficiary institutions that carried out projects under Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes.
