Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı gave an interview to the Milliyet Newspaper

Giving an interview to the Milliyet Daily Newspaper, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı made a comprehensive assessment over “Türkiye-EU relations on 2021 and possible Positive Agenda as well as Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation”.



Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador stated that, the current budgetary period covering the years 2021-2027 offers  a wide range of opportunities including research and innovation programme entitled Horizon Europe with a total budget of 95.5 billion euros. Expressing his views on the EU’s two main priorities, namely digitalization and Green Deal, Kaymakcı added that projects pertaining to those two areas were highly likely to be supported.

Stating that 9.2 billion euros IPA funds were channelled from EU to Türkiye between years 2002-2020 within the scope of Türkiye-EU Financial Cooperation, Ambassador Kaymakcı said “In 2020, the funds allocated to us set a new record with a utilization rate of 99.2%. There are new opportunities looming on the new period of IPA (2021-27)”
