Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in the Advisory Committee Meeting 2020 for Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı and Director of the Turkish National Agency İlker Astarcı participated in the Advisory Committee Meeting 2020 for Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes coordinated by Turkish National Agency in Türkiye.

The Advisory Committee meeting, which was established to search for ways to make the most of Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes, was held online on 21 December 2020.

Representatives of over 100 institutions operating in a wide variety of fields, from public institutions to higher education institutions, sports federations, non-governmental organizations and professional organizations attended the meeting. They shared their recommendations for the implementation of Erasmus+ and ESC.

In his opening speech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı highlighted that Türkiye had granted 1.4 billion euro for 36 thousand project since 2004. In this way, 700 thousand participants, 550 thousand of whom are Turkish citizens participated in the Programmes offering a major contribution to the EU-Türkiye relations. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Kaymakcı underlined the importance of opinions and suggestions of Advisory Committee in order to conduct Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes more effectively and the continuation of the success in implementation.
