Programming of 2021-2027 Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye CBC Programme Continues
We are continuing with our work on the programming of the 2021-2027 implementation period of the Interreg-IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye Cross-border Cooperation Programme as the National Authority is the Directorate for EU Affairs, together with our colleagues at the Managing Authority in Bulgaria.
The policy areas of the programme for the 2021-2027 period were determined at the Joint Working Group Meeting held on 24 September 2020, based on the regional analyses conducted in this process.
In this regard, it has been decided to implement a strategic project under the policy objective “A Safer and More Secure Europe,” focusing on improving the capacities and professional skills of the law enforcement officers located in the Programme area in the field of migration and border management and the protection of human rights.
It is envisaged that the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Trade, the Governorship of Edirne, the Governorship Kırklareli from Türkiye and the Ministry of Interior and the law enforcement offices of the districts of Haskovo, Yambol and Burgas from Bulgaria will participate in the project.
A meeting was held with the related stakeholders on 16 November 2020 to assess the needs of the project partners and to determine project activities.
While the budget of the draft project s is not certain yet, it might be possible to allocate 5% to 15% of the total Program budget. The amount of the funds that can be allocated for this project is expected to be clear after the 2021-2027 regulations are approved by the European Commission.
