Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes Committee Meeting Convened Online

EU’s Programme in the field of education, youth and sports Erasmus+ and ESC Programmes Committee convened online on July 08, 2020. Programme country Delegations discussed the current issues in the implementation of the Programmes. EU Affairs Experts Arzu Akar and Dr. Petek Karatekelioğlu attended the meeting on the behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs, designated as the Turkish National Authority of the Programmes.

At the meeting, the delegations of the Programme countries and the European Commission discussed the current state of play related to the implementation of the Programmes during the COVID-19 crisis and the response of the Erasmus+ Programme for contribution to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in education and youth sectors. Commisiion’s proposal to launch two new calls in response to COVID-19 has been deeply discussed and the revision of 2020 working programme has been finalised. Thereby, this second revision of the 2020 Erasmus+ Annual Work Programme will reinforce the programme by approximately 256 Mio EUR. Moreover, European Commission presented 2021-2027 Erasmus+ Programme budget allocations overview, which was followed by Committee members discussions.
