Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı came together with the Managerial Staff of IPA Implementing Institutions in the In the Inauguration of ''Leadership of All Times'' Training

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı made an inauguration  speech in the first part of the online training entitled “Leadership of All Times”. Organized as part of the Technical Assistance for Supporting Public Institutions for Tendering Preparations (STEP) Project, the training aims mainly at enlarging the management and leadership capacity of the managerial staff of institutions responsible for planning and implementation of IPA projects.

In his speech Ambassador Kaymakcı underlined that there would be a growing need in the upcoming period for much more proactive leaders who can take quick decisions in times of crises, create an agenda and closely follow the requirements of the era in the coming period. Kaymakcı also pointed out that the IPA III period seems to have a much more competitive structure emanting from the lack of pre-identified country allocations, and added that utilisation of the IPA funds in an effective way and without being affected by political winds lies with the hands of visionary and fast-acting managers.

What is STEP Project?

The STEP Project, implemented by the Directorate for the EU Affairs, aims to ensure the effective and efficient use of IPA II funds and to increase the effectiveness of public administration. In line with this objective, consultancy services and various capacity building trainings are provided in order to support the tender preparation processes of IPA II actions.

The “Leadership of All Times” training organized by STEP Project, which will be held on 1-3-14-16 July 2020, aims to contribute to the enhancement of leadership skills of managerial staff of institutions that are involved in the management of IPA actions. Throughout the training, participants will have the opportunity to listen to the speakers from university, public and private sectors who are experts in their fields in order to be a successful leader in a rapidly changing world.
