Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı participated in a series of teleconferences dedicated to the Türkiye-EU relations during the Covid-19 pandemic
Deputy Minister Kaymakcı participated in a series of teleconferences dedicated to the Türkiye-EU relations and EU Programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the participation of representatives of NGOs, universities and students from universities.
In this context, Deputy Minister Kaymakcı made comprehensive assessments of Türkiye-EU relations and answered the questions received from the particpants during the teleconferences held by the Economic Development Foundation (IKV), the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education and 29 Mayıs University European Studies Club.
Ambassador Kaymakcı, in his assessments made a strong reference to the need of strengthening the cooperation between Türkiye and the EU on the basis of mutual interests and trust and also stated that preserving the accession perspective is of crucial importance for both sides. Kaymakcı also emphasized that Türkiye's accession to the EU is a good win&win deal which will be in the interest of both sides.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı added that Germany's EU Presidency might be regarded as an opportunity for Türkiye during this COVID-19 period.
