Statements of the Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik on the Anniversary of Srebrenica Genocide
The Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik posted a tweet on his Twitter account, on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, which is regarded as the greatest human tragedy in Europe after the Second World War, with the massacre of over eight thousand Bosnian people.
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik said: "We still feel the sorrow of the massacre of more than eight thousand of our brothers in Srebrenica." and he recalled that when he was the Minister of Culture and Tourism, the Srebrenica mothers were hosted in Istanbul.
In his message, Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Ömer Çelik stated that the sorrow of Srebrenica and Sarajevo is also the sorrow of Türkiye and he added: "today is the 22nd anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, which was ruled as a genocide by the International Court of Justice. I extend my deepest sympathies to the victims of this genocide, which occured before the very eyes of the world and express my condolences to the grieving parents.
