Egemen Bağış Celebrated the Europe Day with European Youth

Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mr. Bağıþ came together with the European youth in Istanbul on the occasion of the Europe Day Reception.

Mr. Bağıþ adressed to the young people who studied in our universities as exhange students under the Erasmus programme and the young people attending to the voluntary activities in our countries non-governmental organizations within the scope of European Voluntary Service (EVS) voluntary activities of in our country, non-governmental organizations. Mr. Bagis remarked that overcoming prejudices and the development of intercultural dialogue can only be realized by young people getting acquainted and he is very content to host the young people who will be in decision making bodies of the European Union.

Minister Bağıþ stated that Erasmus Programme, which is being implemented more than 20 years, brought up an Erasmus generation. Mr. Bağıþ also highlighted that Türkiye is also a part of Erasmus Programme since 2004, and since that time 23.361 Turkish students have been mobilized to European Universities and 7.091 European young people have been mobilized to Turkish Universities.

In the reception, which more than 400 European young people attended, young people found the opportunity to discuss with Mr. Bağıþ.
