EU Minister Ömer Çelik accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to New York
Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his visit to New York, USA on the occasion of 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
President Erdoğan addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, 19 September 2017, the first day of the general debate that focused on the theme, “Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet”.
During the visit, EU Minister Ömer Çelik also attended to groundbreaking ceremony of the Turkish House Building in New York and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s meetings with President of France Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister of UK Theresa May.
Attending the reception held by the EU officials, EU Minister Ömer Çelik met with EU Rotating Presidency Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Miraslav Lajcak, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the EU Commission Federica Mogherini, and European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Avramopoulos, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides.
During the visit, EU Minister Ömer Çelik also accompanied President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s meetings with the representatives of the US investors, representatives of Turkish and Muslim communities and Jewish NGO organizations in USA.
